01 / Coverage
What this link safety checker looks at
Every scan runs the same six checks, whether your link is clean or not. You get the full report either way.
The redirect chain
Every hop between your link and its destination, in order, with the method each hop used. Long chains lose visitors and draw attention.
What Facebook sees
We request your link a second time as a platform crawler and read the preview it builds. That preview is what gets judged when your link is shared.
Cloaking mismatch
We compare the two runs. When a crawler is sent somewhere a real visitor never goes, platforms call that cloaking, and it is one of the fastest ways to lose a link.
HTTPS and broken links
Any hop that drops out of HTTPS, plus dead ends: 404s, DNS failures, redirect loops and destinations that simply never answer.
Domain reputation
The domain your link actually ends on, checked against threat intelligence. Shared and recycled domains carry other people's history.
Adult and redirector signals
Adult destinations and public redirectors in your chain, both of which platforms weigh heavily when they decide whether to trust a link in bio.
02 / Method
How it works
- 01
Paste your URL
Your link in bio, a short link, an affiliate link, anything public. No account, no email.
- 02
We open it twice
Once as a real mobile browser and once as a platform crawler, both through a proxy, so the destination never sees your IP.
- 03
We diff and score
We compare the two views, score the destination domain, and hand you a checklist you can act on.
03 / Context
Why is my link flagged on Instagram?
Almost never because of the link you typed. Platforms follow it. Instagram, Facebook and TikTok all send their own crawler down your redirect chain, read the page at the end, and form an opinion about the domain they land on. If that final destination is something they restrict, your link in bio inherits the verdict, no matter how ordinary the link itself looks.
Redirect chains make it worse. Each extra hop is another domain in the trail, another chance for one of them to be a public redirector with a bad history, and another second your visitor spends waiting. A hop that quietly drops out of HTTPS, or a redirect that only happens once JavaScript runs, both read as evasive to an automated reviewer even when your intent is completely innocent.
Then there is the domain reputation you inherited. Shortener domains, recycled domains and shared subdomains carry everyone else's history with them. You can be doing nothing wrong and still be judged on the last person who used that domain, which is exactly why it is worth knowing what your link's destination looks like from the outside before a platform tells you.
Build your link in bio on GetMySocial and you get to control every one of those signals: one clean domain, one hop, and a destination you can change without touching the link in your profile.
04 / FAQ
FAQ
Is this link checker free?
Yes. The scanner is free and there is nothing to sign up for. Paste a link, get the full report, no email required. We limit how many scans one visitor can run in a short window so the tool stays available for everyone.
What is a link in bio checker?
A link in bio checker follows the link in your Instagram, TikTok or X profile the way a real visitor would, and again the way a platform crawler would. It then reports what it found: every redirect on the way, the destination your link ends on, whether that destination is visible to crawlers, and what the destination domain's reputation looks like.
Why does Instagram block my link?
Usually because of what sits at the end of your link rather than the link itself. Platforms follow redirects, read the destination, and judge your link on the domain they land on. A destination with a poor domain reputation, an adult destination that is visible to their crawler, and a chain that passes through a public redirector are the three patterns that get link in bio pages restricted most often.
Do you store the links I scan?
We do not save scans to an account and there is nothing to sign in to. Results are cached for 10 minutes so that sharing a scan is free, and we keep a permanent reputation record for the destination domain (not your full link) so we do not re-check the same domain for every visitor.
What does "we couldn't verify this link" mean?
It means our request did not get far enough for us to judge your link: the destination timed out, refused us, or answered with an error. That is not a pass and it is not a fail. Wait a minute, run the scan again, and open the link in a browser yourself to compare.
Can I check someone else's link?
Yes. The scanner works on any public http or https link, so you can check a partner's link before you promote it, or check a link someone sent you before you tap it. We follow the link through a proxy, so the destination never sees your IP address. One exception: when the report shows a preview image, your browser loads that image from the destination.
Fix what the scan found
One clean domain, one hop, a destination you can change any time, and controls for everything this report flags. Start free, no card needed.
